Complex Geometries

Complex Geometries is a Canadian label, based in Montreal. As the name suggests, the core of this label is innovative and beautifully designed t-shirts, hoodies, dresses and the like, for men and women.
Each piece is simple in its colour, fabrics and elements but becomes dramatic and fascinating in the creativity and intelligence of its final construction.

Somedays Gallery and Portraits by Demola

The Portraits by Demola exhibition opened at Somedays Gallery on Wednesday 29th July 2009.

The exhibition is a collection of simple but striking portraits by British photographer Demola. Demola prefers to capture his subjects in natural light, taking inspiration from nature to direct the photos.

“Hidden Gems” by Amelia Soegijono and Markus Van Dri

On Wednesday 4th March 2009, Somedays Gallery opened the fashion photography show “Hidden Gems” by Amelia Soegijono and Markus Van Driel.

In their first photographic exhibition, Soegijono and Van Driel each present an individual series of photographs. Van Driel's imagery is reminiscent of the 50's Woman, with a contemporary edge. Soegijono's series "is concerned with the four elements and an exploration of movement, nature and narrative".

The show continues until March 30.

The Designers Remix Collection

The Designers Remix Collection is a high end line of clothing from Denmark for girls. Charlotte Eskildsen, the Designer and Creative Director of Designer Remix Collection describes the clothes as "sexy, edgy and slightly askew" - and the Spring/Summer 08/09 collection continues to embodies this sentiment (Showgirly dress, pictured).

Somedays Gallery - Gram Shoes

Somedays Gallery winter range 2008 includes Gram shoes.

Gram is a Swedish label, launched in Stockholm in April 2005. Gram chose shoes as the focus of their first designer collection. More recently Gram has added a knitwear range.

Gram shoes "...are not intended to steal the show or force you to throw away your entire wardrobe. They are designed to blend and enhance what you are wearing at any given moment."

Gram's A/W 2008 shoe collection is "RGB & co", a range of low-tops, high tops, semis and drop tops of coated cotton or soft grain leather with tri-colour combinations.

Somedays Gallery - 'At Dusk'

The Somedays Gallery is currently showing 'At Dusk', a collection of photographs by Chris Prestidge. The photos include ocean photography and 'images inspired by life'. 'At Dusk' runs from Wednesday 5 February 08 to Monday 31 March 08.

Somedays is a 'Nordic Fashion House', located at 72B Fitzroy St in Surry Hills. Somedays offers a range of Swedish fashion labels - POUR (Homme/Femme),
Gram, Dr Denim Jeansmakers, Cheap Monday, Maria Westerlind, Hem & Haw and Nys. Other labels on the way include - Velour (SE), Julian Red (SE), Resteröds (SE), Encore (SE), Beat Poet (AU), Stolen Girlfriends Club (NZ) Love Thy Neighbour (AU) and CreateDestroyBuild (AU).

You can have preview the fashion via the Somedays site or go upstairs to Somedays at Fitzroy Street for a firsthand look. The Denim Ringside (pictured above) showcases the range of denim available at Somedays.

The Somedays space also doubles as a gallery for new art exhibitions. Launching from Nov 21 is the 'Forgot to Remember' exhibition, the work of Sydney creatives Jessica Porter, Fil Molitor, and Kate Beckingham.
